A treasure chest
Palermo is a treasure trove of museum collections, reflecting its millennial history and diverse cultural dominations. From the "Antonino Salinas" Regional Archaeological Museum, housing Phoenician, Greek, Roman, and Punic artifacts, to the Regional Gallery of Sicily at Palazzo Abatellis, with masterpieces from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century (including Antonello da Messina's Annunciata). - Antonio Salinas Regional Archaeological Museum
Born in 1814, dedicated to Antonino Salinas, a renowned archaeologist and numismatist from Palermo, it houses one of the richest archaeological collections in Italy and testimonies to Sicilian history in all its phases, ranging from prehistory to the Middle Ages. - Palazzo Abatellis
An ancient noble palace, home since 1954 to the Regional Gallery of Sicily, which exhibits one of the largest art collections in Italy and bears witness to the development of figurative culture in Sicily from the 12th to the 17th century. - "Empedocle Restivo" Civic Gallery of Modern Art (GAM)
It houses interesting pictorial works by Sicilian artists (19th-20th century); inaugurated on May 24, 1910, in 2006 it moved to the monumental complex of Sant'Anna alla Misericordia. - Palazzo Belmonte Riso

Located in the rooms adjacent to the Chinese Pavilion, it preserves approximately 4000 objects collected by the scholar of Sicilian folklore: costumes, puppets, carts, Nativity scenes, ceramics, popular religious prints, ex-votos, glass paintings, etc. - Antonio Pasqualino International Puppet Museum, founded in 1975
It houses a collection of over 5,000 works, including marionettes, puppets, shadows, automatons, and stage machinery from all over the world. - MUDIPA
Founded in 1927 by Cardinal Alessandro Lualdi, it is located in some rooms of the Archbishop's Palace, collecting works of art from disused churches that were at risk of dispersion or destruction. - Botanical Garden
It was established in 1781 to complete the Chair of Botany of the Royal Academy; it represents a realization of exceptional interest. It numbers approximately ten thousand species, some of which are rare.
